The countdown has started! Father's Day is two weeks from today. Have you found the perfect gift yet? Ya...me neither. I came up with a list of great father's day gift ideas (just in case you needed some inspiration).
- Dermalogica Shave: If nothing else dad should have the Post-Shave Balm. It's fabulous! It restores the moisture to the skin AND it eliminates ingrown hairs and razor bumps. The Daily Defense is a lightweight moisturizer with sunscreen, and dad should be protecting his face from wrinkles from the sun... there's nothing he can do about the wrinkles you cause... yet.
- Cologne: ya it's an old stand-by but guys love it when you tell them they smell good. Nickel Eau Maximum is the ultimate yummy guy fragrance, and it has a see through gauge on the side so you know when you're running low. Guys dig gadgets like that.
- Headblade: If your dad wants to look like a mixed martial arts fighter, a NFL
linebacker, or Mr. Clean this is the perfect tool for him. It's the preferred razor of headshavers. It uses standard Gillette razor cartridges. - Jack Black All Over Wash: for the guy in a hurry, the guy who doesn't like to have a bunch of different products, or for the lazy guy. The All-Over Wash is a 3-in-1 cleanser. It can be used for shampoo, facial cleanser, and body wash! This is awesome to have in the gym bag, or on vacation.
- New Look.
Step 1. Cut pictures out of magazines of styles you like (George is always safe)
Step 2: Plan a day to take him to a salon (skip the barber shop this time)
Step 3: Take him to lunch at a sports bar or his favorite restaurant.Optional: If your man is comfortable with the salon experience, add on a pedicure or some manscaping. (Find a spa or salon that has a private area so he doesn't feel like he's on display). If he's on the fence about it, keep it a secret, but take him to lunch first, he might need a beer before letting anyone wax him. Trust me, he'll thank you for it later.
- A Tie: Some guys don't wear ties anymore, but it's the go-to for dad gifts. For a one of a kind tie, uplaod a picture on Kodak.com and they'll print a tie with the picture on it. Way better than a picture on the desk!
- Care Package: Guys don't avoid products because they don't need them... they avoid them because they don't know they need them. Put together a tool set for dad with a how-to-guide. You'll have to tell him how to use it anyway because we all know they won't read the directions. Tool set could include: lip balm, sunscreen, nose hair trimmer, hand lotion, nail clippers, a nail buffer, aluminum-free deodorant, shave products, hair spray, or shampoo that's not for dandruff (tea tree shampoo will cleanse their scalp without drying).
- Game Day: take him to a baseball game, or to a sports bar to watch basketball (places that serve Chicken Wings are a fav for any guy, and sometimes it really is about the wings). If he's a southern boy Wings are a MUST!
- The Good Ol' Days: plan a day doing all the things that you used to do with your dad when you were little. Go fishing, go get ice cream, ride bikes, playing video games, touch football, go to the zoo or the beach, go hiking, spend 4 hours in Home Depot looking at the new tools... All dads have that one special thing they love to share with their children, and odds are if you're older you might not have done it with him in a while. Make a new memory with a cherished memory from the past.
- Snapshots: Mom's get photo albums, and they get crafty with the scrapbooks, but dad's miss out. Make him his own photo album. He'll love the bragging rights, and he'll love having something that's all his own.
- Old Guys Rule! These are my dad's favorite shirts.. you used to only be able to get these at the
fairs, but you can get 'em online now! (Require a sense of humor) Whatever your dad is into they have a shirt to match -Surfing, Fishing, Camping, or John Wayne. All guys love the Duke!
